Lausanne, Switzerland. ”Willy From The Block”, is the first single from the album VIRGO by Dominican artist based in Switzerland, Willy Hobal. This song explores the side earthiness of Virgo, the connection to her people and her origins. It opens on Friday the 20th. January on all digital platforms.
“Willy From the block”, is a mixture of European pop rhythms and Dembow Dominican, merged to create the theme inspired by “Jenny From The Block” by Jennifer Lopez.
Through the lyrics of this song Willy encourages the listener to work hard and get out forward regardless of the barriers that arise in life. A verse of the song quotes the following; “To see the light you get out of the dark, to win I already I worked hard, this is my promise for a better future; even if they put walls there are to go safe”.
VIRGO will be their first album (EP), and the concept is about the zodiac symbol Virgo, and each song explores a quality of this sign, as well as each song is dedicated to two symbols of the zodiac that share qualities with Virgo. It will be an album for special people, for the black sheep, the people who seek the freedom to be themselves through dance and music.
The album will have 6 songs and is scheduled to go on sale in the summer of this year. It will be available in digital and physical version on CD and vinyl from limited edition.
