Singer-songwriter Bruno Del Rey catches our attention with a fresh, soulful song

624

Singer-songwriter Bruno Del Rey catches our eyes as much as our ears with his soulful voice and retro aesthetics. While the flirt with British 60´s subculture Mod injects style and behavior to his look, the flirt with American Soul as well as the Soulmusic school developed in Brazil in the 70´s, shapes his timbre and musicality. Inserted in the same atmosphere of artists such as Durand Jones & The Indications, There Sacred Souls, Thee Sinseers , Charles Bradley and Tim Maia and Cassiano (in Brazil) , it´s not about idealized nostalgia
but the classic as a source to create the new and exciting.

His songs invoke a sound that dialogues with the past but proposes the future with a contemporaneous and modern
language that has brought freshness to the so-called Retrosoul style. His voice has an old aura,like a howl from ancient times that throw us into another dimension and engage us in listening to music – timeless music – with passion and complete surrender.

Here is a new one from him titled ‘There’s a flower blooming in my chest’. Stream below;
