Nigerian-Canadian breakout star Joey Jaey is an outstanding musician who blends elements of Afrobeats, R&b, and Amapiano to create captivating music in this era of the rise of African music globally.
The Toronto-based musician makes music that is comparable to that of Afrobeats giants like Wizkid, Davido, Burnaboy, etc.
Also, He is influenced by musical legends like 2baba formerly 2face, Damian Marley, Bilal, Tracy Chapman, and Barrington Levy.
He performed at the Canadian Music Week festival in 2021 and 2022 and is looking out to be on even bigger stages.
He released his debut single in 2020 amidst the pandemic titled “Friends” featuring Ajuju and Meyar which got a lot of attention and streams. He also released an EP which featured 5 songs: “Precious, Flavour, Feels, Bam Bam and Ije Love” and released music videos for “Bam Bam” and Ije Love which gathered over 200,000 views together.
With his different style, sensual and addictive melodies, and musical writing skills, he has got the attention of many music lovers across the world ahead of his massive upcoming debut album releasing July this year.
The album consists of 10 tracks including a ballad version of the track “Ije Love” from his Ep.
He has released the first song off his upcoming album and it is titled “Kolombo”.
