Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends explore dramatic areas of the soul and space and time with their new single ‘Världen hör inte på’. Starting with a simple prompt from Stockholm, this project frees listeners to explore themes of trust and release, making a song that infers power, no matter the language spoken.
Starting with acoustic guitars and gentle harmonizing vocals’ layering, the beautiful verse hooks you right away. The song then progresses to life with catchy chorus and a beat that while still sad gives energy. Blinking of jangly guitars, thrashing out with pounding guitars, vibrant voice, and accordingly surf-like backing harmonies.
The production is thick and layered and though it might be distilled down to certain pop moments in terms of hooks there is, for instance, a beautiful string section’
half way into the track that really emphasizes its more harmonic side. The ups and downs, as well as the silence and liveliness don’t let the listener get bored. The last with the song has a big, orchestral reprise of the theme; while combining tender layers with fuller in the mix instrumentation for the fulfilling and memorable ending.
Lyrically “Världen hör inte på” is about the suffering and hopelessness that is so commonly overlooked by the happily oblivious world. Asides for occasional lyrics in Swedish, the passion in each growl and each powerful note helps tell a story that doesn’t necessarily need translation: the desire to be acknowledged.
This is the Swedish version of ‘’Happy People Won’t Hear’’ It isn’t as deep as the prior, but you can tell it has the same message and goes to show that Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends doesn’t only know how to make good music but also know how to touch hearts.
