Presenting “One More Story to Tell” a song by the solo project of singer-songwriter John Blangero, Sun King Rising, The song is a release from his highly praised album, Signs & Wonders, which was released on October 1st, 2022.
Talented group of musicians worked “One More Story to Tell”; Steve Schuffert on guitars, George Elliott on bass guitar, and George Perilli on drums. Additional vocals come from Stevee Wellons, Joy Brown, and Bernice Wilkerson. Ace Acker oversaw production, David Granati handled engineering, and Brian Foraker handled mixing and mastering at Maplewood Studio in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
The song “One More Story to Tell” relates the story of a musician who has a way with words and music, and who uses words and music to manipulate and enchant people therefore the lyrics of the song, are all about a man who makes use of his musical abilities in order to dazzle and win over ladies. Using analogies, promises, and music, he is able to captivate them, as the lyrics explain. Sun King Rising wide’s style, which does not easily fit into any one genre, is displayed via the music itself.
“One more story to tell” is a mixture of southern rock, country, and soul types of music. Sun King’s vocal delivery shines through as he effortlessly delivered with a catchy tone. To me his vocal delivery on the song made the song more catchy and captivating and the instruments played to back his vocal delivery added up though but it his delivery for me.
