Cindered Heart Shares “They Will Pay”, A Haunting Anthem of Vengeance and Power

308

Get ready to be pulled into the realm of evil intensity and unswerving determination with the newest track from Cindered Heart – “They Will Pay”. This is a Denver based one man industrial VampTrap project which has created a genre-blending masterpiece, which combines industrial, electronica, and horror.

Very solemn tones, anyway this first chapter of the track is practically monotonous in structure, but very eerie and atmospheric. Piano keys are played rather leisurely and snare drums give the song a suspenseful feel, even though powerful choral part suggests storm to come. Soon the song goes into the ‘dark’ regime with powerful beat and heavy synthesizer at the base with low pitch growling vocals. This together generates an intense, almost ethereal audio experience, which I believe reflects anger and determination.

In its essence, “They Will Pay” is an exciting story of revenge and retribution with a character of moral ambiguity moving through rainy highway underpasses and the nighttime glare of broken destinies. The words choose betrayal and sacrifice as the topics and this makes the music even more emotional. And then we arrive to the clean chorus with extended keys, tribal drums and both harsh and clean vocals. It is one of the liberating sections in a track that, if we are to judge by its title, was basically about crime and punishment; and gloom and doom.

Starting with big heavy drums and filled with gorgeously crafted sounds, the song is one that gives a sense of watching a movie of shadows and lights. “They Will Pay” proves Cindered Heart impressive capacity for storytelling through music, and while it is beautifully intimate, it is also qualitatively general. It is such a spine-chilling and moving song, which would fit right into some people’s playlist for their inner fights.
