Delving into the Themes of Destiny and Connection in Chelsy Kaze’s ‘Kings and Queens’

318

Chelsy Kaze takes us into the realms of longing and belonging as she sings with passion and conviction on her song ‘Kings and Queens’ on soulful and sincere melodies. Through her lyrics, we know that there is a couple who are drawn together in this life with an irresistible, unexplainable pull, yet they do not have any awareness that they’ve been taking care of and serving each other.

Chelsy paints a picture of deep desire and longing, with lines such as “If I was just guessing, I think that you feel the same way” optimistically and hesitatingly hinting her feeling of hope and uncertainty. Her not being sure about their bond makes you feel the pangs of emptiness mixed with some trace of anxiety.

The creative process of the song as aired by Chelsy gives the song a narrative profundity which links it to the topics of time travel and past lives. Chelzy Kaze got the inspiration to write “Kings and Queens” because she was obsessively watching lots of movies and shows that involved time traveling and living in multiple lives, and it all sparked her imagination. And so she became engrossed in a story about two people who had an instant connection without realizing it was their first time to be together. She made a quick reference to that whole thing in the song.

The arrangement of the song makes the song more emotional, Chelzy has a silky and calm voice that makes the song more soothing. The key component of the song, which is the fluctuation of its strength, especially in the outro, introduces a spark of excitement and “goosebumps”, keeping it interesting until the end.

Chelsy proved that she is not only an exceptional singer but also a skillful writer who incorporates elements of romance, mystery and destiny into a ballad. It is that song which a regular person would want to be the hero in the love story.
