A new song called “Over The Rainbow” from Giorgia Fumanti’s 13th album in 20 years, Cinema Collection, has been released.
Fumanti is an Italian-Canadian classical-pop singer. Judy Garland provided the singing voice for the song, which was composed by Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg for the 1939 motion picture The Wizard of Oz.
It endured the test of time and was recognized with an Academy Award for best original song.
The project features songs from The Wizard of Oz’s “Over the Rainbow” to Pinocchio’s “When You Wish Upon a Star,” Shindler’s List’s “I Won’t Light A Candle,” Top Gun’s “Take My Breath Away,” Out of Africa’s “L’Amore Vincera,” and two from A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, “For Always” and “Where Dreams Are Born.” “Now We Are Free” by Mystic is reissued at the conclusion.
When Giorgia was a little kid, she was influenced by the music of John Williams and Ennio Morricone.
Giorgia and Stefano have collaborated on five albums over the course of a decade, and they refer to their relationship as a “beautiful collaboration.”
Giorgia studied singing at the Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito in Parma after being born and raised in Aulla and Monterosso in Tuscany.
She moved to Montreal in 2002, where she signed a record deal with Isba and then signed her first worldwide contract with Manhattan/EMI.
Giorgia has performed onstage alongside numerous well-known artists, including Luciano Pavarotti, Justin Hayward, Michael Bolton, Lang Lang, and Lang Lang. Giorgia, a skilled practitioner of reiki and yoga and mother of four, visits Pope Francis at the Vatican.
She is motivated by a desire for personal tranquility and to spread joy through her music. Her favorite form of healing is music, and she hopes her audience will experience the same benefits.
Some of the best cinema OST composers are represented in this compilation, including John Barry, Henry Mancini, Giorgio Moroder, Ennio Morricone, and John Williams.
