Philip Mason Caal, a singer-songwriter, was born in Guatemala City and raised in the vibrant cultural landscape of Queens, New York. Despite being exposed to various music genres during his early years, it wasn’t until adulthood, while completing his studies at New York Law School, that he discovered the art of songwriting.
Growing up in the most culturally diverse county in New York City, Philip’s musical journey took a significant turn in 2022. As Covid-19 restrictions eased, he recorded his first single, “The Reason,” as a touching tribute to his late mother, who passed away in 2019. This pivotal moment sparked his decision to take music more seriously.
In 2022, after a successful 20-year career as a government attorney, Philip left government service to focus on his true passion. The year 2023 marked his independent recording and release endeavors, with plans to unveil the rest of his album in early 2024.
Philip Mason’s musical style is diverse, ranging from romantic ballads to reggae, pop, and rock. With love as his primary theme, he crafts songs that are honest and passionate, aiming to connect with his audience on a profound level.
