Review of Wittmar’s “One Day”

562

Another great debut from the Swedish band Wittmar is their single “One Day”, a part of album “Strange Bird” or actually pretty interesting album if you ask me, but that’s a story for another time. With “One Day” Wittmar summoned people to learn about the individual stories of resilience and in this message there is nothing but a real  and sincere intention which Wittmar’s music is made of.

The song starts with amazing guitar work that creates a fragile yet powerful foundation and lets the talented lead vocalist show off nothing but Charisma. The melodies are tender and emotional, while the lyrics are as realistic as we can get, thus filling the listeners with the sense of a unfamiliar yet familiar wonder. As in “One Day,” their execution of the song is perfect, from the vocals, to the sonics, to the beat: every aspect keeping Wittmar as one of the best modern folk- rock bands today. The rhythm section shines; soft, gentle, and subdued, the beats rise and fall throughout the composition, while accents add some flair to the mix and create even more vivid sonic textures to get lost in.

The small details of the beat pay off in the form of key arranging that gives the track layered leads, themes, and harmonies that make the track richer. These elements combine seamlessly into a divine flow throughout the contest and guarantee a great aural spectacle for all. ”One Day” is an example of split and beautifully built segments as well as excellent orchestration parts connected with perfectly built structures that keep everything in balance. The perfect vocal combined and harmonies are stunning at the first hearing.

Furthermore, in this aspect Wittmar excels by incorporating various genres into folk-rock style. This is quite impressive since it is not easy to control and manage other musical styles and incorporate harmoniously to form one album.

Therefore, it can be stated that “One Day” is an amazing work of musical masterpiece that captures the very core of folk-rock genre while experimenting with a vast array of related genres. This is a lovely piece of work that brings the fact that we have to go on no matter how hard it gets into the lane of music and rhythm, into the soul.
