Scat C.A.T. Releases Debut Album “Vodovo Day”

Renowned musician and singer Claude Arnold Thibault, better known as Scat C.A.T., is all set to enchant music lovers with his first album titled “Vodovo Day,”

A musical journey that began in the 70s and evolved towards jazz and scat specialization, Scat C.A.T. has mastered the art of using his voice as an instrument, interweaving it seamlessly with other musicians like a saxophone or a trumpet.

Hailing from Rimouski, Quebec, Canada, Claude Arnold Thibault grew up in a musically gifted family of 18 children, six of whom pursued careers as professional musicians.

His musical journey as a bass player and vocalist led him to a pivotal moment when he listened to Bobby McFerrin’s “Peace,” where McFerrin’s playful tone and falsetto imitated a trombone.

This revelation sparked his passion for exploring jazz singing, and he found inspiration in the improvisations of Chet Baker.

Embracing the essence of scatting, a form of singing where words are replaced with a series of syllables and onomatopoeic sounds, Scat C.A.T.’s vocal improvisations showcase his profound knowledge of harmonic structure.

With a curious and instinctive approach to sound, he fearlessly juggles melodies, creating a unique and authentic musical experience for the audience.

Scat C.A.T.’s debut album, “Vodovo Day,” is a remarkable showcase of his scat jazz expertise. Featuring captivating pieces such as “Just Friends,” “Love for Sale,” “April in Paris,” and more, the album takes listeners on a musical journey filled with playful, warm-hearted, and original expressions of artistry.

Scat C.A.T. is accompanied by talented musicians, each contributing to the brilliance of the ensemble.

The album “Vodovo Day” was carefully crafted with the contributions of various talents in the industry.

With art direction and production management by Scat C.A.T., the album was produced by Alain Bédard. Sound recording and mixing were skillfully handled by George Doxas at Boutique de son, with mastering by Marc Theriault at Le Lab Mastering.

The album features vocal coaching by Karen Young, and photography by David Afriat, Randy Cole, and Charlotte Desrosiers.

Roxanne Desrosiers takes credit for the graphic design, with copy editing by Luce Fanneton (French) and Denise Babin (English). Anne-Marie Panneton contributed as the administration and production assistant, and the distribution is handled by Effendi.
