Stinging Ray, a Chinese musician, redefines roots reggae in his debut album

Chinese artist Stinging Ray has released his very first full-length album called “Fantasy & Waitin’ To Cross Caribbean.”

This album marks a key turning point for Stinging Ray as he works with some of the greatest reggae music luminaries. It features 12 incredible tracks that will take you on a captivating journey through the world of roots reggae.

Stinging Ray worked closely with renowned musicians like the Roots Radics, Sly Dunbar, Dean Fraser, Lamont Savory, and I Kong, thanks to Skunga Kong. Their collaboration evokes the powerful Jamaican Roots music of the 1980s.

Additionally, there is a subtle infusion of European vibes, evident in a full track created in collaboration with the remarkable label Irie Ites. The album also includes featured performances by the esteemed Big Red and Stinging Ray’s producer/manager, General Huge.

This musical masterpiece surprises listeners with a blend of original ska vibes from the 1960s and modern Roots music.

It not only showcases Stinging Ray’s talent but also establishes a deep musical connection between China and Jamaica. This album serves as undeniable proof that Chinese Roots Reggae is not only real but also thriving.
